El protocolo HACCP es uno de estos. Introducido en el 1971 para Pillsbury Company en los Estados Unidos , es una herramienta para identificar peligros en la manipulación de los alimentos y establecer sistemas de control enfocados en la prevención.

Sobre la base del sistema HACCP la OMS ( Organización Mundial de la Salud ) ha elaborado directrices para la Covid – 19 aun la EFSA ( European Food Safety Authority) que es el organismo europeo que evalúa los riesgos a lo largo de la cadena alimentaria dice que en la actualidad no hay pruebas de que los alimentos puedan ser una fuente o una vía de transmisión probable del virus.
